The generosity of our families during our 2020 campaign allowed the EAC to support not only our school, but our greater community. We are proud to have donated to existing charities with direct ties to our students, and also to have created our own programs while we shifted our focus to a lens on diversity, inclusion and equity. Our 2021 campaign allocations will continue to focus on our diversity, inclusion and equity objectives, as well as supporting our students during this transitional time. We also look forward to setting goals for improving as much infrastructure as we can, making our school as safe as we can and raising student achievement as much as we can. So, let’s Raise the Dollars and Lift the Kids! Our campaign will run through Tuesday, Nov 16. We value equally our families’ donations of dollars, volunteerism and feedback. These two weeks in November are the only time Eckstein’s PTSA will ask for donations to our school. We limit these asks to this short time period so as not to overload our school community with constant fund raising. We ask for your interest and support during these very important two weeks! Thank you in advance for giving to Eckstein’s Annual Campaign in whatever way feels best to your family. Sincerely, EAC Co-Chairs, Julie Matz MC Schmitt Lauren Abraham
Do you enjoy art, music and dance or have an interest in telling stories, producing films and taking photos? Then join us in participating in the Eckstein PTA’s Reflections art competition, and create original works of art inspired by the theme I Will Change the World By… Eckstein’s annual competition is part of the National PTA program that encourages students of all ages and abilities to explore and be involved in the arts. Eckstein students are encouraged to submit their completed works of art in one, or all, of the available arts categories: Dance Choreography, Film Production, Literature, Music Composition, Photography, Visual Arts. Student entry rules can be found here in English and Spanish. The contest will be virtual and all submissions must be made online. A special artist division is an option for students with a disability as defined under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Generally, rules and guidelines within the special artists division are intended to ensure accessibility to the National PTA Reflections® program and are modeled after the guidelines outlined in the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA). Complete details are included in the 2021-22 special artist rules. Eckstein’s deadline is Nov. 1. Entries are judged on creative ability and interpretation of the theme. Student winners from the local level have the opportunity to move up through their district, region, council and state PTA programs to the national level. Top national-level winners receive prizes and scholarships and their works are showcased and exhibited. The entry form can be found here. Submissions must be emailed to ptaprogdir@wastatepta.org by Nov. 1. Don't forget to include our school PTSA's name and ID number (Eckstein 00023205). For more information, contact parent volunteer Rachael Levy. Each year, National PTA seeks a theme for the Reflections program year to be held two years from now. This year students are asked to submit a theme for the 2023-2024 program year. The due date for submitting a theme search entry is Nov. 1. The student who submits the winning entry will receive $100 and his or her theme will be presented at the annual National PTA Convention in June 2022. Repeat themes will not be considered. Click here for a list of past themes. Submit your entry using the new online Theme Search form. |
