As a PTA, we know there is a lot of anxiety and uncertainty in our community about the potential teacher strike, the reasons for it, and issues of child care, school lunch program, and so on.
For more information on the negotiations between the district (SPS) and teachers union (SEA), you can get updates and explanations from the SEA bargaining team on their website and on the their Facebook page.
The district is also providing bargaining updates and information from their perspective, as well as Family Resources and FAQ page.
Eckstein Middle School PTSA, in alignment with WA State and National PTSA, must remain neutral in this time of negotiations. We will be a resource for information regarding the strike and supports available to our community.
Eckstein Middle School will be a food site from 10 AM - 1 PM during the teachers strike. Please visit https://www.seattleschools.org/news/family-resources-and-faq/?fbclid=IwAR1pyjRGV0bVrxFePul4J6xgBlePVcKwqo5-bvMU0hMHEk4F6Pj8p7ro7jA for more resources for families.
