2021 8th Grade Send-Off, June 17

The time to celebrate with our 8th Graders who are headed off to HS is fast approaching, so please save the date! Come and join us for socially-distanced walk/bike/scooter/drive-through send-off on Thursday, June 17th • 5 to 6pm

To participate, you’ll walk/bike/scoot/drive-through as indicated by the map.

• Walkers will use the sidewalk.
• Cyclists and cars will share the road with an identified bike lane.

Students will be receiving a large piece of cardstock with their name printed on it. These name cards will be distributed after the first part of June during class or picked up in the Main Office if you’re 100% remote.

Students will be provided with some time during class to personalize their name card, if they elect to. They should also feel free to continue adding decorations on the name cards at home. Our only request is that the embellishments be respectful and appropriate for all audiences.

Students will bring their name cards to the send-off so we can read their names over the loud speaker! The announcers will be reading names from the displayed name cards, so make sure to leave the name visible and show it with pride as you walk/bike/scoot/drive by. It should be a hoot!

1. The route you’ll be taking is as follows:
2. Enter 30th Avenue from 70th Street.
3. Travel past staff spread along 30th as they wave signs, etc.
4. Exit right onto 75th to maintain traffic flow.

From past experience with send-off activities marking the rise up to HS, students (and parents) can feel pretty emotional so you might want to pack some tissues just in case for possible tears. The socially-distanced send-off was a blast last year and we’re looking forward to an equally satisfying experience for you and your student.
