Eckstein Morning Drop-Off Reminders: Traffic Flow Guidelines and Updates

The morning drop off is fast paced and requires your attention to kids, cars, bikes and buses.  That’s a lot to think about so here are so important reminders.

1. General Safety Procedures Reminder: 

• Peak drop off time is between 8:30 am and 9 am,  please allow an extra 5 minutes to navigate the side streets.
• Remember to be alert and not use cell phones in that zone. 
• Drop off encouraged on 75th Street in front of the school.  Please make sure you pull up as far as you can to the buses.  The kids can use the extra few steps in the morning anyway. 

2. No Left Turn going South on 31st Avenue NE turning onto 75th St, between 7am and 9am:  

• There is a no left hand turn policy from 31st Avenue NE onto 75th St, between 7am and 9am. You can be ticketed for making this turn.  That means for the safety of all using the crosswalks in front of the school, you may ONLY TURN RIGHT on to 75th st. during peak drop off hours.
• The safest way to make a right turn onto 75th St. is to wait until the cross light is activated,  which stops traffic on 75th, and then make a  slow right hand turn onto 75th St.
• Please be aware of students crossing in the crosswalk running east and west on 31st Avenue NE.  If at all possible make your turn one street earlier on 32nd Avenue NE and loop around the block to drop your student off on 31st Avenue NE. 

3.  No Left Turn from the School Parking Lot crossing the double yellow lines onto 75th: 

• Police Officers have been at school recently monitoring this area and giving warnings.  They may start issuing tickets at some point. 
• This policy is valid at all times of day including after school events.
